    Can the transom take it?

I want to put a gas kicker motor on the back of my aluminum, but how can I tell how much weight the transom can support? I was also wondering if the kicker motor stays on the transom during transport. I would think that the bouncing of the motor would put a strain on the transom as well.

    Identifying Year/Make/Model

I have no idea of what my boat is. All I know is that it's 14' long and was supposedly made in the late '60s. The era isn't even a definite, the guy I bought it from was either the third or fourth owner. How can I go about finding out what the Year/Make/Model is? Or am I hosed on that info?

    when to rebuild the transom

Seeing all the threads on rebuilding transoms, it got me wondering; how do you know when its time to do this? I only run a trolling motor on mine, but would eventually like to get a little gas motor to go with it. The wood is definitely old and looking pretty rough. Its far from rotted away...

Anyone in Colorado? I could use a referral for a good welder if anyone knows one. Thanks.

    Flex seal

Has anyone heard or tried flex seal? I just saw this stuff on a tv ad. Kind of looks promising for smaller leaks. Anyone else have thoughts about this stuff? Www.getflexseal.com I'm not affiliated with the company, just curious.
