I have used the JB waterweld on a couple of boats I own. I have never had a problem with it leaking. I applied it to the inside and outside of the repair areas.

I used rustoleum top side paint that I picked up at Ace Hardware. I did two tone white and blue and I brushed it on. Turned out pretty good for a brush on job. The paint comes in quart cans and is on the thick side. I also did a jon with spray cans and it's holding up very good. Have fun!

I used the pink foam board from HD and swimming pool noodles under the floor on my rebuild. Inexpensive and easy to install.

I use a utility trailer like the one in the background. I just use straps from the lifting handles on the boat to the trailer. Back down the ramp and slide it off. Load the same way. My jon is a 14' so I am trying to figure a way to mount a winch that I can remove when not hauling the boat...

I have a Classic Accessories Storm Pro trailerable cover. Very strong and well made. You can get one for around $160 for the size you need at BP. I would also check Ebay.

Welcome Ryder, I agree with Dave and Vermonster. I have a 14 ft. jon boat for the local lakes and an 18 ft. V for the Bay. Big difference between the two.

I have used Marine Tex and JB Waterweld. Sand and paint. Have not had any problems. I have also used rivets and stainless bolts & nuts. It all depended on what and where I was applying the fix.

JB Water Weld. The boats I used it on are still floating and it cost less then $10. The wife and I were out in one of these repairs today.

I use a utility trailer for my 14' jon boat. I don't dip it. I slide the boat off into the water and pull it back on. I only run an electric trolling motor so the weight is not that bad.

Thanks Guys, I ended up buying the stainless U-Bolt. It is 3/8 dia. which I believe should be strong enough. I am going to add fender washers to the inside to build up some thickness to keep the bolt from pulling thru. I will post the results. I'm hoping to complete this repair tomorrow.
