new guy with qeustion on motor mounting height?

I believe you would gain more by adjusting the angle of the lower end/ prop entering the water (trim) then you will see by changing the height of your motor

    Rivets vs. Bolts?

Should be good to go with If it were me, I think I would be sure to use a Loc-tite product to be sure the nuts did not work loose..

    3m 5200 Shelf LIfe

I deal/see shelf life ratings all the time at work( public transportation), because of the nature of the work we are compelled to adhere to them My guess is the 48 hr rating is the time at which the “gassing off” process begins. Anytime before 48hrs 5200 is at its optimal state, therefore...

HELP! Evinrude 9.9 not shifting correctly

Using a flash light watch closely (in the bolt hole) as you move the side case shift lever, you should see the machined gruve (pappy's post) move into the connector link. The is very little room for error, tight tolerance.Check the matching gruve on the bolt and you'll see what I am saying...

Question about dent removal on round rails

Aluminum is pretty soft to pull (w/slide hammer screws might pull out) against a dented radius rail, tends to be a point of strength. I concur with drilling a hole, however I would consider drilling the hole on the backside (in this pic it appears to be accessible). I would then insert a small...

    Hobbs Aluminum Boat

On that old of a boat, I wonder if Grand Pappy used Bitumen to seal up those leaky rivets I see  . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asphalt  The apparent age of the, and given the type of wood, solid not plywood has me thinking it one of the first uses of aluminum for the...

    Water Levels on smaller rivers...

I am not sure I support placing a dam on the Meremac; I claim ignorance of the Meremac River, the only river I recall from my stay in Missouri is the Big Piney in the Ozarks  Most of Oregon dams serve one of two purposes (1) Farm irrigation (2) Hydro electric generation. The side...

Trailer 4-wire, Brakes Turns Hazards Work, No Running Lights

Wow I learned something new (again…) that fuse must be very sensitive, without going much deeper into this it must use current load to sense resistance. That is a “SAFE” circuit. Great job guys =D>

    Water Levels on smaller rivers...

I’ll chime in on this only because the question was about rivers and rain runoff. I have lived on or fish rivers for most of my life. Your statement of 6-7 days of higher after a day or two of heavy for the most part is right on. The difference on some rivers being how many dams are on that...

Trailer 4-wire, Brakes Turns Hazards Work, No Running Lights

Voltage spikes/current overloads/ dead shorts blow fuses  Use a Voltage / amp meter to check out vehicle plug, see what level of VDC your getting at socket, if 12 VDC is present then focus on your trailer. If your meter has a continuity tester then pull your lamps apart and “ring...

    Filling holes

That area is a major stress point on your hull. [-X Not only would I weld (perfer TIG) I would plate over it by at least 2" to 2.5" beyond the edge of the spilt. Inside would be my first choice, outside of hull would be my second choice.
