    johnson fuel line routing

I have an '83 Evinrude 15 that I just replaced this line on this year. My line was routed from the connecter, down around the port side of the motor.(Follow along the inside of the pan.) Underneath the t-stat cover/head at rear of motor by the hood latch.(tight fit here!) and then back around...

    Motor too hot????

Pappy, I was gonna try that next. Maybe barrel AND lake test this weekend. Does a lean motor make a hotter motor? or is it just flat out not getting enough fuel in the low circuit after time? All you guys' help is so great! Tinboats is the BEST!

    Motor too hot????

Stream is steady, not a broken "piddle." Feel it sould be stronger but, not sure. This is my first full season with this "new to me" motor. I am used to my ol' 56 10 horse with no telltale. Not peein like 'big' outboard....unless throttled up, but better than before I serviced the pump. And yes...

    Motor too hot????

'83 Evinrude 15 hp. new impeller, new t-stat. Having trouble with stalling after about 10 min. of trolling speed. Runs sweet otherwise, cruising, wide open ,etc. Thought it might be the internal fuel line giving out(which was original) so I replaced it. Barrel ran it in gear at idle tonite to...

    1980 Evinrude 15hp pee hole

While you have the lower unit off, run something up inside the water tube that goes from the impeller housing up to the powerhead to check for any blockage there. I used a length of small dia. rod with a slight hook on the end. Run it up the tube like an auger, don't be too aggressive though...

    Fuel tank quick connect

vahunter, so yer sayin' that there is a filter in the pump assy. itself? I just checked my motor, saw nothing on fuel line from motor fitting (port side obviously) around and underneath cyl. head to fuel pump.(starboard side) Then just a line from pump to carb.

    What's your confidence bait?

Worked for me when I was 13 yrs old. Works for me now at 39. All black weedless K&E bass stopper. Won't have less than 5-6 of 'em in my box. My #2 is the old school, floating "Perch" Rapala. I have one from 'back in the day' that is just hammered with teeth marks......Love it!

    seafoam?

2 oz. per gal. all the time. Stabilizes, dries, and cleans all season. A little under a can per season for me. I get an extra can a year when I see it on sale. For a deep clean, I fog it right into the airbox while running in a barrel or on muffs.

    Fuel tank quick connect

Thanks Pappy, thats what I figured. Just wanted to make sure.....I am installing an inline fuel filter and just wanted to know if I still needed to reinstall the fitting. Easier not to, just won't be able to remove line from tank. But, I'm used to that already cuz I ran the ol' 2 line tank for 3...

    Fuel tank quick connect

Just have a quick question. Is the brass male quick connect fitting necessary on single line Johnnyrude tanks? Or can I just thread in a straight barbed fitting and clamp the fuel line right on to it? Thanks!

    8 HP to 9.9?

I have an OLD flatbottom (no USCG plate)14' long, 32" wide at bottom. When I got the boat 4 yrs. ago it had a '56 Johnson 10 hp. GPS speed was 17.2 mph with no gear and just myself, gas, and a battery in the boat. Late last season I repowered to an '83 Evinrude 15 hp. First run out I was fully...

Which fuel stabilizer do you use?

I use SeaFoam full time. The can states avg. 2 oz per gallon in gas/oil mix. Works great for continued cleaning and stabilizing. (1 additive for all my needs) For a deep 'de-carb' I use SeaFoam in a pressure can.

    Mercury 110, 9.8 hp issues

Had a similar situation with a friends Merc '66 6hp. Went thru carb. Ran great in a barrel for a little while, then started acting up again.(Acted like it was running in 1 cyl.) After sitting for a bit would run great again for a bit then would do the same thing again. Bogging down, then...
