Have some Cabelas gift cards to use up and they are running a $5 flat rate shipping sale. Going to pick up 2 seats for my project. Was also browsing for odds and ends that I still need and came across this.

I don't have a bilge pump yet and will probably end up picking one up from Wally World. Is this a decent plumbing kit for the price? I'm planning on mounting my pump next to the stern and starboard side of the bilge area. So I probably only need about 2' of hose. Will I be able to cut this hose to fit?

Looks like the same kit I used. You can cut the hose in any of those smooth areas.

Thanks!!

Quick question. Does a bilge pump require a grounding wire? I was getting all my electrical supplies figured out the other day and I noticed places that sell tinned marine wire sell bilge pump wire which has three wires in the sheath. Was hoping to be able to use 14 gauge duplex tinned wire for all my accessories.

This is the one that I installed. There are only 2 wires on it. One to the positive battery terminal, through the fuse and switch, and one to the negative terminal.

It's always preferable to run a seperate grounding wire for each accessory in the boat. True, you can pull a ground from the hull of the boat if it's aluminum, but it's best to keep stray current to a minimum by having an actual ground wire.
