Just joined TinBoats, but looks like exactly what I need. Easy-button: anyone know an upholsterer in DFW Metroplex area that will do a small, classic job like this (been trying for a couple years and can't find one). Harder approach: if I just buy the vinyl and piping, can I sew that stuff on a regular sewing machine? Related question: it does not appear that there is an active Texas Maid club at this time, correct? Thx!

Years ago I joined an adult education upholstery class. Met in the evenings and had heavy duty upholstery machines. Most folks were redoing furniture. I was redoing boat stuff including a canvass top. If they have that in your area, might be worth checking out just for access to the heavier sewing machines.
