Mine are all aluminum, but I'd imagine it would work just as well on wood. I painted my deck and floors using an HVLP sprayer. After the first coat I sprinkled on the Asper Grit allowed it to dry to a tack and then applied a second coat. Has held up great after 2 full season of hard duck hunting and a full season of fishing.
