Grabit screw removers

My wife likes tools, all kinds. I like tools, good ones. She saw these grab it screw extracters and made a comment how nice they seemed. That translates to "Buy me those for a Christmas stocking stuffer". I can't drop $20.00 on something like that to have them be a POS. Anyone try them before? Any comments about these?

You can buy a similar item at any hardware store - I have a few in stock at my family's store - never used them.

Take a look around - $20.00 is a steep price.

I woudl avoid the grabit set as it is likely junk!

Concur with the above. I'd stay away from the Grabit, and go to a hardware store and get something that will last.

I agree, I've got a Greenlee set, and a Craftsman set, and both work well. They make two types, one with a spiral, and one with flutes, I like the fluted kind better, but both work.

The thing is I have a 3 piece set of Craftsman screw extractors:

but she saw the ones on TV that have both the reamer and the extractor all in one and thinks she needs them for her tool kit. Like I said she like tools and I like good tools. I'll have to go to Sears and check out the Craftsman 4 pc. Drill-Out Power Extractor:
