[British] Boy Scouts & pocket knife ban

What's everyones take on the ruling?

Geez, our dad gave us small pocket knives when we were young, told us the proper way to care for it, sharpen it, and what not to use it for.

Just another in the all to normal politically correct time we live in.... Really now the only ones carrying knives will be the ones who commit the illegal acts.

I think it is a sad day. As a boy Scout leader here in Texas I feel that all too soon it will be enforced here.

I'm just curious about how many of the incidents with knives involved British Scouts? Or, is this a "preventive measure" to prevent something from happening? Either way, it's stupid...

Boy scouts pretty good with knots.

Asinine doesn't begin to describe it. And when granny is trapped upside down with a stuck seatbelt in a submerged vehicle what, pray tell, is her Boy Scout rescuer to use to free her? I though the Boy Scout motto was, "Be prepared."

In a word, Sad. Who let these Pansie a$$'s take over anyway?

My wife jokes that if I'm wearing pants I've got a pocket knife. Men need a knife, it's that simple. I finally quit carrying nice ones though since I personally keep the TSA well stocked

Thats awful. That is one of the things that my son is looking forward to in scouts, getting a knife.
