In researching the ports/marinas along the Mich/Ohio area of Lake Erie, I found dozens of ports and many, many charter services in each port. Does any member here have any experience with a charter in Lake Erie for walleyes, around the eastern end (Ohio/Mich area) that you would recommend and/or not recommend. I'm looking at a spring (April/early May) trip for a day of charter fishing for walleyes. Thanks for any info/help you can offer.

I saw your post in the fishing report section, I just started fishing erie a couple months ago. The wife was getting burnt out on salmon fishing every weekend. I don't have any experience with charters there but I can make the recomendation of trying to find someone out of Ohio. The reason for this is because the area of water in Michigan is so small that if you leave from MI you will most likely have to fish in OH waters anyway, which will mean that you will be required to purchase nonresident licenses for both states.

Okay, thanks... It seems like most places are on the Ohio side ------ lots around Port Clinton area? I was hoping to get some first hand info to be better informed before we book a trip next spring....

I have used these guys, https://www.lakelandcharters.com/ a couple times. Family run. The young 20-22 year old son is a captain, he works hard for the fish.

My video from one of the trips is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMfjHIZWluM

Girlfriend's boss goes out with Debbie Does Charters a few times each summer. Always does VERY well. Think they launch out of Conneaut,OH but not sure. This may be a little too far east for your taste though.
