27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............




Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will
look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on
Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the
sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Mark it on your calendar.. it will be raining at my house on the night of Aug. 27.

Every lunar or celestial event in recent memory has been blocked by dense cloud cover.

I haven't been able to see a good meteor shower in nearly 10 years now. :x

Actually this is an internet hoax. Mars will be bright, but nowhere near the size of the moon.

I'll be up watching....maybe from my boat. Now wouldn't that be awesome!

Yea, the hoax resurfaces every year or so. Would be cool if it were true.

What I enjoy watching more than anything in the sky these days (or nights I guess) is satellites. Almost any clear night I can sit out on my back deck and watch 6 or 8 sneak across the sky. I've never bothered with it but there are several software downloads that will show you when, where and what type of satellite.
