I have SOOOO much had enough snow already! Today was freezing rain which made for an interesting commute. The older I get the worse my "seasonal depression" gets...plus I have the brand new used boat I am dying to play with. At least the ground hog didn't find his shadow this morning......early spring!!! I hope so.

Ouch! . Snowfall like that would shut us down for a long time around here. Our town just doesn't have the snow-removal equipment to handle it. Hope it dissipates quickly for you guys.

Denny, we don't usually lose power her cause it's mostly all underground, however lots of other towns lose power, sometimes for days at a time, with heavy snowfall and large summer storms - wind is the culprit in the summer and ice and wind in the winter - knocks down trees that fall on power lines, etc.

Waterwings, our city streets were passable by 9 am or so, some county roads are still closed because of drifting. But, you're right, down there you aren't equipped for anything major. My in-laws are from the Knoxville area and when they get 3" or more, they don't go anywhere for a couple days :) :)

The bad thin is after we cleaned our driveways, the plows cam back thruogh and I had another 2 feet about 3 feet wide when they cleaned curb to curb aarrrrgggggggg

Not going to melt soon - only 10 degrees for a high tomorrow :(

We've lived in this town for 15 years, and I recall a road grader doing our street 3 times............................twice last year, and once this year. We're in the county, and they do treat/scrape the main road, they just seem to pass my street though when putting down the treatment stuff.

Basscop, your snow amount is terrible...shame on the weatherman to allow that to happen..Your pictures also make us here just on the southern outskirts of St. Louis proud of our piddly 2" of sleet and 4-5 " of snow.....Our subdivision has a slight hill at the entrance... We work pretty hard to keep it clear so people can get in and out...So far this year we have used close to 700lbs of salt toward that effort... Our worst year on our record books...Cant wait till spring. I should be thinking about working in the garden in 3 weeks...lettuce and spinach are early crops.
Stay inside and off the roads if you can
peace

Life would cease to exist if that happened here in the Atlanta region. Seriously, we would just disappear into the history books! :LOL2:

that sucks !!!!!!!!!
Well up here in vancouver they were calling for the worst winter in 30 years. It has not come yet. Total snow this year is almost 30cm. not much but even 1/2 that puts a stop to everything. Dumb vancoverites cant drive in the snow. LOL

I'm about 65 miles South of Chicago, outside of the nearest town on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Town lost power at 8 last night and last I heard it was still out, Here is my day

I have a Ford Ranger back there
