Considering that Tohatsu makes ALL Nissan outboards and Mercury outboards below 40hp you have nothing to worry about. The only difference between the 2008 18hp 4stroke Nissan I brought and a Tohatsu is a paint job. Best investment I've made in a long time. At the time I ordered a tohatus 18hp from www.onlineoutboard.com , since they were out of supply they upgraded my order to a Nissan at the same price of the Tohatsu. The savings of no taxes and fast delivery to my driveway(3days) made my day. Parts are reasonably priced and easy to locate(important things to consider when purchasing a outboard).
