Spring is almost here. After it sat outside all winter, I was worried about my motor running - call it paranoiam or just silllyness. Today it hit 80 degrees in southern WI and I took off work to putter. Of course, I check the fuel, pump the bulb about 3 times, prime it and crank, but she didn't start. I had bought new plugs so put those in and cranked some more and nothing.... When I was just about to break out the starting fluid, I remembered 'THE THROTTLE'. Gave it a bit of a goose and she fired right up . After about 5 minutes, I adjusted the rpms up a bit and calling it good for the on-the-water test next week.
I think I'm going to write myself a reminder of what to check when launching the boat. Checklists and me go good together!
