HVAC Technician - HVAC

Description:

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Technical understanding of and practical experience with distribution, production and components associated with: Steam, condensate, chilled water, electrical motors, paralleling switch gear, motor control centers, condenser systems, variable frequency drives, reciprocating engines, generators, compressed air and compressors, pumps, refrigeration systems, air handlers, boilers, cooling towers, pneumatic and low voltage control systems, DSC controls on HVAC.
B. Start-up activities including trouble shooting and establishing performance expectations. Maintain tracking for long-term performance evaluations and adherence to baseline requirements.

C. Maintain safety program for all facility activities and personnel: Safety training; tagging and labeling; MSDS administration; injury reporting; proper procedure for all maintenance activities; procurement of all safety equipment, inventory, and maintenance.

D. Assist and maintain establishment of trouble call procedures for facility that effectively communicates problems and recommends course of action. Assist and maintain program to provide dependable tracking procedures and allow a continuous means of evaluating trouble calls, response time, response responsibility and further action required.

E. Assist in leading daily activities of all facility Technical Specialists and other personnel.

F. Repair and calibrate DSC controls on HVAC systems.

G. Repair and calibrate humidity controls on HVAC systems.

H. Repair and calibrate economizer controls on HVAC systems.

1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED with three to six years related experience; or

Preferred: Associates degree (AA or AS) or Technical degree and six to eight years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

d) Ability to compose and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
