Seems to me that there's a carp out there that weighs more than 99 lbs.

Biggest Carp caught (by country)

I know it goes without saying - but that's a HUGE freshwater fish. I see lots of guys pull big carp out of one of the spots I usually frequent, I'm starting to do research on carp baits to see if I can't land a 40# fish on medium-light tackle.

carp bait = corn meal, little peanut butter, some flour then enough molasses to make a firm doughball for a treble hook. adjust to your liking. works great around here.

Around where I live is a place called "Mt. Trashmore". It used to be a landfill, but was turned into a park, with a huge grassy hill (huge being 100+ feet). It has a pretty decent sized lake on it that you used to be able to fish, I don't think you can any more, but it has huge fish in it. We used to fish for carp with a whole slice of bread covered in garlic salt, rolled up into dough balls. Catching a 30-40 pounder wasn't an every day thing, but it wasn't rare. We also used a homemade bait similar to what was posted up a little earlier that was flour, peanut butter, and water mixed into a paste. Good stuff...
