I got some motor oil for my old boat, the oil is 10+ years old. Does this stuff go bad , should I use it?

I have never heard of oil going bad and have never heard of a "shelf life" for oil. But you might want to do a search on the internet and find out for sure.

Thanks for the replies. It is a 2 Gal jug of synth QuickSilver. Hate to throw it out if it is still usable. It has been sealed up for 10+ years.

Ok after some research with good ole google, i found that oils should not be stored fro more than 4 to 5 years under good conditions. The chemicals in the oil will breakdown. So I am going to pitch this jug and buy some new oil.
