registering boat in florida with no title

I have a 01' honda xr200 dirtbike that a guy wants to trade a 89' alumacraft 1860 for. the boat has no title, he claims he got it from a guy who owed him money. is there a way to regerister it in the state of florida or am i wasting my time?
 
I'd look it up under Florida's government sites, motor vehicles or natural resources. Should be easy enough to figure out without guessing based on a forum reply.

I'm going to guess it's going to be a PITA to get a title.

I would make the other guy provide a clear title if he really wants to do the trade. FL DMV can be a PAIN to deal with, you could get stuck with something you can sell later on.
