I read something about Kevin VanDam using a Biosonix unit. https://www.biosonix.com/ This sort of seems like cheating, especially in a tournament. What do you guys think?

I heard the same thing a while back but I think he was just endorsing the product. I have never seen one on the deck of his boat when they film him on TV. Ofcourse I could be wrong. If that is the case, the other guys better go out and buy one fast.

In the paragraph titled "Calling All Schools" It talks about him using it.

Not sure if I would use it or not. I know it's not like chumming and you still need to entice the fish to bite. But still...

Of course it's a $700.00 piece of equipment and that could one of the reasons I want to not approve of it because I can't afford it.

Sour grapes and all. :?

I see it as just another piece of gear that anyone can use to win an event.
As long as the rules say it is okay, What's wrong with it.
Look at the new side imaging sonar units if they are as good as they say is it Fair to use them?
I don't have that kind of money so For me it's out of the question.

I would have to agree with redbug, with technology these days it probably seemed like cheatign when it was first introduced as well. That is. unless it is against the tournament rules.... then it is cheating.

But side imaging sonar doesn't call the fish in. But I sort of agree with what you are saying. I suppose if Jim were to send me one I could do a product reveiw for you guys. Wonder if it would work trolling for salmon?
