how many species have you caught?

Talk about anything that floats your boat (no pun intended). This is general talk about anything not related to boating/fishing.

If I had a nickle for every fish I've ever caught I'd just spend it on more tackle and boat stuff.

last time i went off-shore we had a pack of them aroud the boat at one spot. anytime you would bring your line with bait still on a hook you gou one. my dad hooked one right in front of the port of pensacola. thought he had hooked a something big the fight really hard.

Lets see:

Atlantic cod
Atlantic salmon
Pacific salmon (steelhead?)
Arctic Char
Trout (brook, brown, river, lost count long ago)
Splake
Grayling
Whitefish
Different types of suckers, Bigmouth Buffalo stands out as a unique sucker for me (Saskatchewan)
Carp
Burbot
Bullheads
Smallmouth
Some spiney finned thing off the warf once (might have been atlantic croaker?)
Mackerel
Pike
Sturgeon
Pollock
Catfish
Dogfish
Perch
Landed a 4 foot shark once on a hand line. Thank god I was wearing gloves and there were two other guys in the boat (the uncle put a round in it's head and threw it back once up by the side, nurse shark maybe?)

Other:

Squid (those suckers are hard to hook, gotta get the shell or it rips right through)
Eel (turns into bait)

"Non-line" caught:

Traps:
Lobster
Crab

Farmed:
Scallops

I am military, that's why list is as long as it is.

Been posted east and west coast and everything in between.

Having a family background that are commercial onshore fishermen doesn't hurt either....
