A good deal on a motor maybe ?

i know the motors are worth triple what hes asking for them which makes me a little weary
also i don't know how hard it would be to find parts for these things

Look around over at Antique Outboard Club Forums there's a wealth of information about the old motors there. MIght not want to post your link over there.

Ferguson-Poole, Inc. Marine Sales and Service Since 1951, has some parts for some of the old motors, nos & used. The owner also on AOMCI.

I'm not really sure where you are getting the 3 times worth from.

To me, and I have dabbled in vintage outboards a bit, the price seems to be fair for both the buyer and the seller - not great, but fair.

Neat looking motors. If I ever get the time to start playing around with all the things I like to tinker with, I'd love to add one of those to my collection.

Take a trip up here sometime an see exactually how badly northeners screw each other on the boat motors, that motor running would go for about 350-400 hell my early 60's 5.5 johnson goes for around 300

I have seen a few cool looking old outboards. Since my boat is from the 60's I thought one would look cool on it...(my Merc is from 72 so I really have that covered) but the worry about getting parts has kept me from picking up a couple I thought were deals....well that and I have the Merc.
