Ever use a hydrofoil?

Curious who has used a hydrofoil and with what application do they serve best in?

My boat doesnt have a problem getting on plane (around half throttle) but I wouldnt mind getting on plane sooner.

I wouldn't put one on if I were you. If you plane at half throttle then there is no need for one. I have heard far to many negative things from using hydrofoils. I did a lot of research last year on them trying to decide if it would help my boat plane at the time. From what I understand about them is if you are stern heavy and cannot get enough weight forward then they are practical. But most of the time the problem can be better solved by ballisting your boat properly or trimming your motor correctly. They take away from top end also.

I had one on my G3 with a 25hp 4 stroke. To be honest I felt My boat did better when I took it off.
