I have a 1978 loweline 16 ft jon and I need to make me some rod holders for it. The problem is i dont know where to begin. Could anyone share some pics of what you are using just to give me an idea of where to start. I mainly fish for catfish so they have to be heavy. #-o

I made custom mounts for mine...

Here's mine. I like fishing out the back of the boat. Biggest fish so far on these holders is a 40lb blue.

I have the atwood rod holders like vahunter and they seem to be mounted in a similar fashion. I don't use them too much, but I'm glad they're there when I need them and no issues with the atwoods.

'bout $35 for 6...

$35 for what? Cutting an angle on a few pieces of PVC? Not trying to offend, but thats all those look like - I could never justify $35 for $3 worth of material and 10 minutes work.

Pipe, caps, straps, galvanized screws, paint....$35 and about 1.5 hours labor. $3 wouldn't even cover the pipe.

Ummmm....yeah I don't know where you are buying your materials but that does not sound normal.
