Hello forum ...
new member here ...hailing from truman lake missouri.
I just bought a 1971 polar kraft semi vee jon boat at a garage sale.
Shes 16 or 17 foot long. Nice. And wide.
Only gave a 100 dollars for her. Hopes with all the experts on this website we might be able to. Fix her up.
Shes been rode hard and putt away wet..

Motor is old 50 horse two stroke. With remote. Alll cobbled up. Spider web of wires. A mess.
Looking to rebuild transom and go with a mercury. 25 bigfoot. Tiller steer.
My boat has aluminium sides ....inside the hull. Kinda like a tumblehome.
Is it a huge job to repair the transom? Motor clamp is bent.
thanks

Trying to post a picture.
Dont know what the rails are for on the rear inside of boat...cut them off?
They start about center of boat and go plum to rear. About 8 inches wide on each side.
Boat has aluminium platform on the front.
Im stumped.

Ok! !! Good news ... me and my buddy tore into the transom....yep.needed new transom board.
Got new board .... and a nice big plate of aluminium for added strength ..ready to have it back together tomorrow.
wasent near as hard as i thought it was going to be.
My buddy has done this many times. . So he was a great big help.
Shopping for a motor tomorrow too. Should be on the water this weekend!
