Late fall and early winter can be a prime time of the year to catch fish bunched up on deep structure. Creek channel swings adjacent to flats are also prime locations to catch bass that move up to feed in small windows in cold water.
The general idea is bigger concentrations of bass are grouped up in smaller areas. They feed and then go out and chill. Deep points, flats with cover, isolated deep cover can all hold fish and slow methodical, probing and pausing presentations often produce. You need a good variety of lures and presentations to cover the bases.
