I apologize for the delay on your rod. This is the start of a custom fishing rod for JMichael, He requested a 7'2" Crappie-light Bass rod. This rod will be constructed with a nano-composite carbon fiber blank made by Bushido. We want to give great thanks to American Tackle Company for donating the blank for this build. I hope yall enjoy, fire away with any questions.

I can hardly wait to get my hands on it, and more importantly, get some fish attached to the business end of it. I'm planning on making a trip to Academy Sports in the next couple of days to pick up a few things so I'll also be looking for a new reel to go on it now. Thanks again Kevin.

No problem Mike, We started the rod this morning and by the time we leave this thing will go on the coater......he is putting the guides on as we speak. Do you like the wrap? I will put a detailed list of parts up when we finish. You should be stoked to get this.....not too many people have this type of guide system, and our customers down here love them. I will be speaking with Jim about some promo stuff later if this rod works out. I have been speaking with American Tackle co. about possibly doing this on a regular basis........just have to make sure its ok with site admin.

Microwave guides? Ibuild a few rods myself, mostly loomis or st croix. Mostly casting rods for bass with split grips, and a few spinning rods, but havent tried those guides yet. How do you like them and what are the advantages of them, casting distance? That rod looks great mine are not that intricate, most are built light, no underwraps or butt wraps to weigh them down. But damb that looks cool, he is gonna love and its the only one like it. :LOL2:

I believe this blank only weighs in at 4 oz......they are very light.....even though Mike wanted full cork grips with butt wrap I would bet that this rod will be less than one pound when finished. I will try to weigh the rod before we ship it to him. I sure is pretty.....I am going to have one made with a 30lb blank for large snook and Tarpon.....we are prototyping as we speak.

I was out going to several stores last night after a few different items and decided to stop by Academy Sports and look around. While I was waiting in line to get some info on their marine battery warranty, I started checking out the demo reels. I ended up leaving the store without a battery but there was this Shimano spinning reel that followed me home.

Ok Mike here is the finished product......will be sending your way today....if the rod builder lets me.
