I have lurked for a couple of years. Really impressed with the fabrication skills of many members and the willingness to share. Myself, I've fished for over 45years, salt water and fresh. Ive lived most my life within 40 miles of dc. In the spring I drive about 1 1/2 hours west and catch 8-10 inch wild brook trout in the streams of the blue ridge mountains on dry flys. 10 min. From my house is the PotomAc river in front of George's House in Mount Vernon and some of the best large mouth fishing on th east coast. Add in the bonus of Northern snakeheads to over 20 lbs. in 2ft of water and Im in heaven. The Chesapeake bay is 1 hour away if I want strippers and yellow fin about 3 hours to the fishing grounds. Further, for many reasons, the creeks in the river are covered up with ducks and geese. 30 min from dc is the best kept sporting secret in the is.
