i couldn't figure out where to mount my 597 so both me and the wife could see it.so it made a mount from an extra spring mount swivel seat base and some plywood and spare carpet. it can be mounted in any of the 6 different bases on the boat,has its own battery and is also wired to my deep cycle batteries through the switch panel with a simple switch of the plugs.
