I can only imagine what it's like where no one is prepared for ice and snow. Don't think too many people are running studded snow tires in GA.
Stay Safe! Snow is OK, ice is bad!

Try 1 foot!
My thoughts exactly! We still have snow from two weeks ago and more coming this week

shoulda kept my mouth shut, today i wake up to ICE! and this weekend they are predicting snow in terms of feet not inches for our area! yay!

I may live in Florida now, but at one time I spent two years in Keflavik, Iceland. They measure snow in feet. The winter starts in July and ends in May and by that time the 15' snow stakes are buried. I have seen 100kt winds with white out conditions and a wind chill of -69......now that is some cold snowy conditions.

Must have been for the military !! Why else would you have stayed 2 DAYS, let alone 2 years in those conditions ???

The fishing can't be THAT good in Iceland !!

The snow in northern Illinois is piled up so high my snow blower can't blow it any higher!

Yes the winters are long and snowy......as it happens I was stationed there when they had one of the coldest winters in 50 years. We had to walk between the barracks via snow tunnels. Needless to say I was young. We consumed many a beer and had lots of good times in the land of fire and ice. This is a typical day at the end of winter in Iceland.
