LOCATION
Lake in the Hills Illinois
The morning news had a story of a 2.9 earthquake just 1.25 miles from me last night at 6:08 pm. I didn't feel it but I do remember hearing a rumbling noise like a large truck going past the house but I'm not sure of the exact time that happened.

There is a website I found once that showed all the registered earth quakes as color dots on a "google earth" type viewer. It's very interesting to see just how many small quakes have happened all around me. You could zoom in and click on the dots and it would give precise location, magnitude, and other info on each one. Some of the ones near me were felt, but the big majority were not.

If you're near a fault line (New Madrid maybe), it's probably the same for you.

I'm in northern Illinois. The earthquakes we get are a result of the last ice age. The weight of the ice pushed the earth down and every now and then an area pops back up.

Haha, that's funny. I live next to an area called the St. Francis Sunken Lands. In contrast to your land popping up, this land sank. And it wasn't just some odd sinkhole as a portion of it stretches across 3 counties. Here's a link to some info on just what happened. https://www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-detail.aspx?entryID=2222

Been through a few up here and they can certainly catch your attention.

That sound much like the Intellecast interactive site.
You can use the layer menu to add things such as earth quakes and storm tracks. they also have a phone app that can do the same. Best weather phone app I've found. And it's free.
