For the past several years, I have been a member of the Patriot Guard Riders.
This organization provides funeral and escort flag services for our fallen men and women
in uniform. Military as well as our personal protectors in our hometowns such as
police, firemen, EMS, whoever calls upon us to Stand Guard over them one last time.
Due to failing health, (danged broken bones developing arthritis) I am selling my
beloved Harley Ultra and will not be replacing it. I have given serious thought into a trike,
but, I just need to settle down for awhile.
My last mission was a couple of months ago for a U.S. Army veteran that survived a horrible
time in his life - World War II as well as a stint in Korea.
I, as well as my comrades, was deeply honored to provide him with the escort and flag line
into his eternal next duty station.

If you would like to know more about the Patriot Guard, please check out their website.

You do not need a motorcycle to participate in any of the events.
Just a white shirt and tie and a 3'x5' nylon flag on a 6' pole.
Each event needs flag bearers to either line the streets or funeral area.
Many tears are shed by the toughest of riders in these times.
But I will tell you this - - - - when our military COMES HOME alive, you will never feel such
exhilaration, happiness and JOY to meet these warriors and escort these brave men and women HOME
with the loudest and most rambunctious welcome you have ever experienced.

You can buy flag carriers for a motorcycle, but, I wanted to make my own that I trusted to hold
double 3'x5' flags at 60 miles an hour. It is welded aluminum tube and 1/8" plate that bolts to the frame.

If you know of someone, or hear of someone, that should be honored with such a detail, PLEASE, do not
hesitate to contact the Guard via the website. When someone passes away, there is so much to do in planning
for the funeral that often times things like honor guards, which are FREE are not even thought of. Much less
how to contact them.
Also, the Guard is most proud to WELCOME HOME any service member from foreign deployment at the airport
with a Flag Honor Guard and/or a rolling escort all the way to their front door step.
Thank You Patriot Guard Riders that allowed me to be a proud member and Lead Flag Bearer for your organization.

Thank You for Your time and dedication.
I saw the Patriot Guard escort a young Soldier from our town
To His final rest. It's quite emotional!

Thanks
