If you get a state record?

I've seen what can happen in hunting but what about fishing??

so lets say I catch a state record LM bass, what should I do after high fiven everyone near me :D

who do I call, where should I go?

how can ya make any money off it, if ya can? what should you watch for on being ripped off in some way?

what really can happen with this fellas??

I really don't know?

Increased pressure on the waters where you took it and fielding unwanted phonecalls for a bit is about all that I can think of.

The money for a state record fish isn't there like it is for a big game animal... unless whatever it was so far eclipsed any national record that it was absurd. One of the big outdoor retailers might buy it from you for tank exhibition if you could keep it alive that long.

You need to call your state dfwr for authentification and get a couple of witnesses at a set of certified scales.
