As some of you may recall I installed some plastic bunk Glide Ons I bought from Eastern Marine.

I bought the ones for 2x4’s as my bunks are 2x4’s, go figure.

They retailed for $44.95 for a set that covers 16 board feet (Two 8 foot bunks).

I only covered the back part of the bunks so that the front would still be carpeted to help hold the boat on the trailer while recovering it.

Well I have launched and recovered my boat enough times to give them a thumbs up/thumbs down vote. I varied my launch and recovery depth and this last time was with a little cross current. These things say they are self centering. Not sure how they figure to accomplish that with just some channels formed into them.

Well, here it is…

The verdict…

2 Thumbs…

UP!

Now, I still have the remaining pieces and am not sure if I will install them yet or not. If I don’t I will prolly sell them.

Good to hear, Andy! My Lowe rig states self-centering bunks also. I haven't quite figured out the concept of them yet either, because I've had my **** boat sitting at an angle across the bunks a couple of times, lol.

I also saw them in action last Friday - they seemed to do the trick for sure (self centering and easy glide on).

Andy, let me know if you're gonna sell them, I'd be interested....
