You have got to be kidding me. I was walking back to my desk and decided to pick up a piece of paper...and hurt my back. I feel pain in my lower back and this weirdness numbness there and down my legs.

From a piece of paper? Has this happened to anyone else? This is pathetic. #-o

the numness in your leg is not a good sign not tryin to scare you but you should atleast call your dr. i have alot of back problems and when i go to the dr they always ask if i feel numbness in my leg when i say no they say good. so it must not be a good thing have numbness, nerve problems i think they said

It is always something small. I could move bags of Concrete all day, but as soon as I get off the couch to get the phone I throw my back out. Go see a Doctor and then take it easy and then go to the gym. I hope things will get better.

i have a bad back i have 3 slip disk in lower back the l1- l2-l3 i also have compression of the thecal sack witch causes numbness and burning down the back of my legs ,you need to see a doctor with the numbness i hope you get better

Call the doc, and take a few days off. The pain/numbness down your leg is sciatica which is basicly nerve issues coming from a pinched erve in the back. Could be as simple as some anti inflamatories and muscke relaxors for a few days, or as complicated as a herniated disk. NOTHING to mess with! I ignored mine for a few months and ended up under the knife at 21.

I have been dealing with this myself for the last 6-8 weeks. If its the same thing, you may have pinched or bruised your sciatic nerve. the first two weeks was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. the last few weeks I have numbness in parts of my right leg and most of my right foot. It sucks but it appears that there is no real cure, it just has to go away on it own.
Good luck buddy, believe me I feel your pain.

Wanna trade?? I've got 3 pages worth of MRI "mumbo-jumbo" on my spine, chronic carpal & carpal tunnel, and 1 shoulder that what happened to it they (doctors) claim to be "impossible"

Go see a "good" chiropractor, so far (out of 4-5 "specialists") he the only one who's done me any good.

Hope you feel better... I second the chiropractor. When my back goes out it is the only thing that helps ... thank God it hasn't happened in a while.

i had the worst pain in the back last fall I missed several days of work couldn't tie my shoes or some other minor things.
mine was brought on by 2 weeks of 3 til 11pm working out doors for an hour or so then sitting in the truck in an awkward angle
i started seeing a chiropractor and in 2 weeks i was feeling better now I'm down to a once a month visit and my back has never felt better...

8pm - the numbness down the legs is gone but the lower back pain is still there. Making me walk like I'm 80 years old. Finding a comfortable position in any chair is impossible.

i agree w/ kmixson,,, see a dr,, anykind... acupuncturist physician, chiropractor,, if you want to get back to normal,, hope you have ins, x-rays,, and if its numbness like you say,, he gona order some mri's.. if you want pain meds,, gotta see a MD,, Acupuncture works well very well for long term relief,, also a chiro,, but i hope you get better i know what your going thru i have 2 herniated discs,,, another words 2 discs broken,, so i get constant sever back pain..

take some meds,, and take few days off.. hope you get better,,

Sorry to hear about that Jim. Find a good chiropractor and stick with him... It's done wonders for me. I go once a month for a tune-up every month now.

Sorry Jim..Ihate back pain more than anything(well almost anything) my back takes spells every once in a while but praise the Lord it's been a good couple of years since it's hurt real bad!
Best thing to do is definately take it easy and the chiropractor idea is a must!!
Hopefully when you wake up in the mornin' it will be better

Yep Jim, back sufferer here :(

all I can say is it Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,Sucks,

I've been going to a chiro for the last 8yrs and so far he's helped me on not getting a surgery =D>

I woke up one morning and bent over to tie my shoes and all of a sudden WHAM! I was in agony. 16 months of limited duty (NO physical exsertion/exercise, and being removed from my ship and placed on shore duty behind a deck and physical therapy 3 times a week and home stretches twice a day) and I was better. Not 100% mind you, but better. Compared to back then and accounting for getting older I would say I am 90% better. Still have my days though. Has yet to affect my fishing. =D>

Take it easy Jim. Go to the MD for some meds and then to the chiropractor to get straighten out (literally). I hurt mine sneezing... go figure!

Hey Jim, sorry to here about your back. Back pain sucks bad. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in by saying before you see a chiropractor go to the docs first. I have had back problems for the past few years from my fall and I also have numbness in my right leg sometimes going the whole way to my toes. The doc told me that with the problem I have if I was to go to the chiropractor and he adjusted me he could possibly cripple me. Im not saying the chiropractor isnt gonna help but I am saying before you go to one go to the docs first and see if the problem could be solved with just a little therapy or Meds. im stuck living on pain meds and will probably be on them the rest of my life. Im not no doctor so im not gonna give any medical advice the only thing I will say is see a doctor before you do anything. It would suck to screw yourself up by doing something stupid.
Good luck my friend!
