Looks like Kidde is recalling 134 models of fire extinguishers manufactured over the last 44 years.

Here's the page you need to go to to check if your fire extinguishers are being recalled, and to request a replacement: https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/

Here's a FAQ from Kidde: https://s3.amazonaws.com/inmar-adx-files/N130284/US_25+FINAL+FAQ+for+Posting+to+Kidde.pdf

The replacement for my 3 month old fire extinguisher will be here in 15-20 days.

I have three that are affected by this recall. I called the number and it was busy. I went online and placed my info in to get some replacements. I had to do it twice since I have two plastic handled models and one push-button model. I had to enter the handled model ones on one page and then start over and enter the push-button model info on another page. It would not let me add the push-button model one to the list on the plastic handle model recall page. It was still very easy. I should be getting my replacements in 15-20 days. It notified me that the push-button one is no longer available and they would be sending me one of comparable size to replace it.

I have an old Kiddie that I frankly don't consider reliable just because of the age. I really need to discharge and toss it. As far as I can see it isn't on the recall list.

The model extinguisher I have while it is plastic is not affected by the recall.

My wife has already had the one in my boat and the one in the RV replaced due to the recall. They will send you the shipping label to send the old one back.
