Sad news! Stupidity?

I think he relied on his gear more than knowing survival skills.

I don't think so, there are people who do the same thing on a regular basis, as did Tanner. Chris McCandless, Dick Proeneke (sp?) were a couple good examples, though Dick passed away of old age/natural causes. How about Steve Irwin, far from stupid.

Sometime things just happen, and knowing that is part of the risk & excitement of doing things that make you feel alive. I've had a couple conversations on this subject and said that if you've never done anything to place your life at risk, at your own hands.....then you don't know it feels like to live.

A good example of stupidity was Timothy Treadwell.....who is now fertilizer
