WILLIAMSPORT, Md. – Authorities say two men suffered nonlife-threatening injuries after their boat plunged over a dam in the Potomac River near Williamsport.

Washington County emergency dispatchers say the accident was reported shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokesman Sgt. Ken Turner says the boat fell 20 to 25 feet from Dam No. 4.

Turner says one man swam to shore, went to a home and called 911. The other man was lifted from a rock in the river by the Maryland State Police Helicopter.
