It cracks me up, the people in charge around here. There was a chance of less than 1 inch of snow with no road accumulation and school in the whole county was canceled at 6:00 tonight. We usually get a cold rain when they do this, but I would like some snow. It's been 3 or 4 years since I've seen any...That's South Carolina for ya!

Wanna see snow??? Come to Chicago - you'll see more snow than you bargained for :) Heck, they don't close the schools down in our town untili it starts getting upwards of 12 inches over night, then, they'll close down for a day because the roads won't be totally clear until about 10:00 or noon the next day...... By noon, everything's back to normal for the most part. Mind you, nothing else closes, just the schools - you can still get to the gas stations, stores, etc.

We can handle it - you guys down there aren't prepared - you get an inch and everything shuts down - maybe for a couple of days

We already have to make up a week of school now due to snow (and 1 flood day due to rain). Our problem are the back roads that don't get cleared and the buses can't get back there. One year we missed 14 days. Cut my summer short having to make that up. :x

We had the same thing last year in Southern Illinios. As soon as they see snow, or in last year's case, ice, then school is canceled. We ended up missing about 3 days of school from the ice.

you mention the word snow here in atlanta and the city shuts down... it is snowing a little now, but I haven't heard anything about schools or work. Then again, I'm watching the movie Casino and Atlanta news can't break into the AMC channel to post anything

The last 3 storms in eastern pa were predicted to be accumulating snowstorms, which turned out to no more then some flurries or dustings. The other day they predicted morning flurries with clearing skies in the afternoon, and we managed to get 4"s or so. Got to love the local weather guys.

We had 12" here in Vancouver,Wa. and it shut this place down. School was the night before and it didn't snow untill after school was out for two days.
That was the most snow at one time here for 30 years.
