I was flicking through the channels yesterday and caught the weigh-in, they were all proed out. Some of those kids can flat out fish. I was wondering who supplies the boats, do the kids operate the boats or do they have a driver? I saw Sebile was one of the sponcers. I didnt see much of it but it looked pretty cool.

I watched the series a year or 2 ago on bassmasters... the kids drive the boats, and I'm pretty sure the school supplies the boat, but I could be wrong.

I followed 2 brothers from one of the southern schools... they were unreal

there is a thread going on over on the georgia forum i visit... a kid on there posted this

I'm a student at Georgia College and we have a team that fishes all across the southeast. We face teams like Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, UGA, and we got a pretty good thing going. College fishing is getting HUGE. FLW, Fox Sports, and Under Armour/ESPN are starting to cover it. Actually the Under Armour Super Regionals will be on Clarks Hill March 6th and 7th if you would like to come out and see what it's all about. Pretty cool stuff and the best thing is...the schools and the tour's usually help pay for most of it and it's an excused absense when we go to the tournaments!!! check it out

We have several of the UT Team Members as members of the East Tennessee Fishing site I am a part of. These guys are good fishermen who just love what they do and want to do the best they can at competing while in school. They use and drive their own boats for most events. They work off of mostly sponsorships and their own cash... what little a college student has. I've talked to a couple of them and it's really interesting... wish they had it when I was in college!

I think its great. Pretty sure they are giving out some pretty hefty scholarships for it. Ultimate Match Fishing did a Collegiate Series and it was awesome! The winner was from Illinois University.

Also, Illinois has stepped up to the plate and is the first state to make fishing (bass) a sanctioned high school sport.

Did see that Eastern KY Univ., U of L, and U of KY, all have teams.

Of course I spent most of my time chasing something besides fish so no complaints
