Rec'd this in an email today. Contains a blurb from the Nat'l Weather Service in Paducah, KY:

"THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE INTERSTATE 64 CORRIDOR WILL LIFT NORTH OF THE AREA LATER THIS MORNING. THESE STORMS SHOULD REMAIN WELL BELOW SEVERE LEVELS. IF A THUNDERSTORM CAN DEVELOP SOMEWHERE ACROSS THE QUAD STATE LATER THIS AFTERNOON...LARGE HAIL AND POSSIBLY DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE. HOWEVER...THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING THIS AFTERNOON IS VERY SMALL.

A LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH THE ENTIRE REGION...AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT LATE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. A FEW DISCRETE SUPERCELLS WITH THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND SOUTHERN ILLINOIS BEFORE MIDNIGHT. A TORNADO OR TWO CANNOT BE RULED OUT IN THESE AREAS. THE STORMS WILL FORM INTO A SOLID LINE AS THEY MOVE EAST NORTHEAST AT 40 TO 50 MPH. DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY CONCERN AFTER MIDNIGHT OVER THE EASTERN HALF OF THE AREA.

STRONG SOUTH WINDS WILL GUST UP TO 40 MPH AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

A SWIFT MOVING...VIGOROUS STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A GOOD CHANCE OF SNOW TO THE ENTIRE AREA LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING. AT THIS TIME...AN INCH OR TWO OF ACCUMULATION APPEARS POSSIBLE SOMEWHERE ACROSS THE QUAD STATE. IT IS TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOWS WILL OCCUR. HOWEVER...TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR
ACCUMULATIONS...SHOULD THE SNOW DEVELOP AS EXPECTED."

I have a feeling we're gonna miss Spring and go right into Summer.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT. THE
PRIMARY HAZARDS WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. AN ISOLATED
TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT.

A LINE OF STRONG TO LOCALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP OVER MISSOURI THIS EVENING...THEN MOVE EAST ACROSS THE
OUTLOOK AREA TONIGHT. THE LINE IS EXPECTED TO CROSS MOST OF
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND SOUTHERN ILLINOIS BETWEEN 9 PM AND 2 AM.
THE GREATEST POTENTIAL OF SEVERE STORMS WILL BE DURING THIS TIME
PERIOD.

AS THE STORMS CONTINUE EAST ACROSS WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHWEST
INDIANA LATE TONIGHT...A SLIGHT WEAKENING TREND IS EXPECTED.
DAMAGING WINDS WILL REMAIN A CONCERN...ALONG WITH ISOLATED LARGE
HAIL. STORM MOVEMENT WILL BE EAST NORTHEAST AT 40 TO 50 MPH.

STRONG SOUTH WINDS WILL GUST UP TO 40 MPH AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. THIS WILL RESULT IN THE DOWNING OF A FEW STORM
DAMAGED TREE LIMBS LEFT OVER FROM PAST WINTER STORMS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

A PERIOD OF SNOW IS LIKELY SATURDAY AS A SWIFT MOVING...UPPER
LEVEL STORM SYSTEM MOVES QUICKLY SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE MID
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. A SWATH OF ONE TO THREE INCH ACCUMULATIONS
COULD OCCUR SOMEWHERE ACROSS THE QUAD STATE. IT IS TOO EARLY TO
DETERMINE WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOWS WILL OCCUR. TEMPERATURES WILL
BE COLD ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR ACCUMULATIONS...ESPECIALLY ON GRASSY AREAS.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED TONIGHT.

Looks like I will be more likely to catch the rough stuff than you are.

OFFICIALS WILL TURN OFF ALL ELECTRICITY TO THE CITY OF MADISONVILLE KY
AS THE STORM IS EXPECTED TO DROP POWER LINES ANYWAY AND THE OFFICIALS
FIGURED WHY NOT GET A HEAD START ON BEING POWERLESS. LOL

Ours went off at some point. I was up at 2:30 am resetting alarm clocks.

More high winds but I don't see any shingles laying on the ground. The lightning was unreal with this one.

Do some of you fish Barkley regurlarly? I make an (almost) annual trip on a Houseboat out of Green Turtle Bay. I think I've been 5 times in the past 7-8 years. We always plan it the weekend before Memorial Day. The weather there is unbelievable that time of year. Never know if it's gunna be 85* or 45*. Always seem to have a nasty storm blow through at least 1 out of the 3 days and it's usually at night.

A bunch of funny stories from those trips. It's amazing we are all still alive to talk about them.

Anyway, the fishing has always been fair to good just throwing around the buckbrush. Is that the best pattern that time of year? Looks like folks in the know are setup in the channel fishing offshore structure. I'd like to try it, but we are usually fishing out of a jon boat, and once the wind picks up out there, it gets a little hairy.

I used to fish Barkley quite a bit but haven't ventured over there in some time since I now only live about 15 minutes from Kentucky Lake.

The time that you are talking about is a transition time on the lakes. You can catch them pretty much anywhere. The flooded structure along the shoreline is about as good as anywhere else. Fishing the ledges has become popular over the last decade simply because there are always fish out there on them if you can find them. A little bit later in the season and those ledges are about the only place you will find them outside of the early morning and late afternoon grass bite.

That is prime time for spawning catfish though if you want to try your hand at that. You can load the boat in short order around visible riprap. The mouth of the bay at Kuttawa is a good spot.

sheesh and i was bummed out about getting the rain off of yalls storm front. i wouldnt mind alittle lightning to watch but yuns can have all the high winds and snow.! be safe
