At least for me it is.

My sister called tonight with a math problem from her daughters class and it is driving me crazy. Was hoping (for my benefit now) if anyone knows how to solve it. So here it is:

If you bought a boat that was 10% off and paid $400 for it, what was the original price? :? :? :?

Bassboy, round up the from the third decimal.

444.45 x .10 = 44.445 (44.45) - 444.45 = $400
 
You used math.... I used arithmatic. End result is the same.

444.44
100 ÷
----------
4.4444 =

10 ×
----------
44.444 =

400 +
-----------
444.444 =
