Well im favorite holliday is comming near. How do yall celebrate independance day

A buddy of mines parents have a big cook-out w/ horseshoe tournaments, volleyball, ect ect. Theres always somthing to do for every age of people. last year we all got woop'd in shoes by my buddys 85 y/o grandpa  . it usually starts around 12 and alittle after dark the 80-100ppl put all there fireworks together and have a good shin'dig. usually a few hours after that everybody heads home with the exception of a few pass'd out in the yard

Whats Yalls pans

Our town throws a 3 to 4 day long celebration every year. BBQ competitions, free activities for the kids, concerts downtown, a big country music concert at the university stadium, fireworks, parade, etc., etc. It is a big, city wide affair. My little girl loves to attend the stuff downtown. Some friends have a place on a hill that overlooks the park where the fireworks are launched so we normally cook out there on the night of the 4th.

Going to the lake with my wife, Just she, I, the boat and a tent.... Gota love southern women!!!!

amen, thats the best way to do it

sounds like a blast quacker. bbq compatiion is where i'd like to be. the judging part atleast

Hopefully going to the barrier islands with my wife and friends. Cat island is a few miles offshore and we beach the boat to watch the casinos firework displays.

Headed over to the folks for burgers and dogs on the grill, maybe some hand-turned ice cream. The little town down the street from them has a fireworks display so we gather out on a hill in their yard and watch that.

Local fireworks friday night, and then saturday I'll be washing back a few beers up the parents house, and eating some BBQ. Late afternoon clams are the best. The food and family are what make the memories. Sunday its back to business. Fishing of course.

Our company set July 3rd as our paid holiday because the 4th is on Saturday. Yippee, I'm werking the 3rd so that's 12 hours of doubletime. I'm off the 4th and we will have our trailer at the state park along with several other friends and will watch the displays over Lake Michigan. Not sure if we are gonna put the boats in or not.

will be going to my brothers camp on the lake for a cookout he buying all the lobsters and steamers ectect and to work up a appatite ill be on the lake catching the winning bass for the 4of july turney

Sounds like my 4th every year I was in the Military.... :(

I hope to get my 1st big Toothy Critter this Saturday!!

Since my wife is going to buy another steer from the kids at the 4H cattle auction next month, we decided to have a big cookout at our farm property and invite all of our friends and family to help empty out the deep freezer. We have almost 500 acres that has a doublewide with wrap around decking and heatpump and newly installed city water and electric. It's a really nice place to go and get away for the weekend and not have to drive hours away. We will probably bring out the 4wheelers and tractor as well. I bought some yard games and going up on friday to mow the field and clear off a spot for a camp fire ( smores!). I'll probably setup a BB gun shooting range so the guys can test their shooting skillz.

That sounds nice right there, but for Lobsters I don't need to work up an appetite, all I have to do is smell them cooking.

I'll be spending the weekend out at the lake cabin with my wife and 2 kids. Spend the days floating around on the pontoon, catching fish, and swimming. Then at night we will watch the area fireworks and sit by the campfire. Should be a perfect weekend.

I will be in the air flying to Maine for my annual get the heck out of the south fishing trip. I am spending 8 days in nice and cool Maine. I run the streams chasing land locked Salmon and rainbows with my flyrod. Man am I ready to get outta here. I get to eat all the Lobster I can handle.

And the weather is very cool. The only issue is a lot of rain this year so my streams are swollen. But that should sit ok the fish still need to eat my #12 Caddis Fly... woo woo..And if they do not I still got to see things I can t in Louisiana.

Just my .02 here, No matter what you and your family are doing, some time during the day, lets all raise a glass to the women and men that have and are protecting the reason that we have this day to celebrate, Past, present and future. God Bless our military, one and all.

I most certainly will. Got one Brother in Law that just left for Texas and is shipping out to Iraq in a week or 2. And another that won an all expenses paid trip to Afghanistan in January.

I'm headed to the lake tomorrow with a most most generous offer of use a of very good friend of mine's pontoon boat for the weekend. Firework display on the water Friday night. Camping and maybe heading into town for the 4th Parade Saturday Morning then back to the lake for a while. Looking forward to some R&R.
