Well my family and I had planned a trip over the Cherohala Skyway for a few months and finally got to take our trip last weekend. We left Thursday morning around 8am with my family, my little cousin and some friends of ours. We started the morning off right with a good Cracker Barrel breakfast and then proceeded to Tellico Plains and the entrance to the skyway. There were many interesting sites along the way. We visited Bald River Falls and Indian Boundary on our way up stopping at all the pull offs just to catch the views. We eventually made it to the highest point on the skyway (Santeetlah Point - Elevation - 5390) around 3pm. We then started our decent down the other side into Robbinsville where we passed Santeetlah Lake. Once in Robbinsville we decided to head on to Cherokee, NC. We arrived there around 7pm and decided to spend the night. The next morning we visited Island Park there in the middle of Cherokee and then decided to go on a world-wind tour of several of the waterfalls in Western NC. We visited Dillsborough, Bridal Falls, Highlands, Highland Falls, Cashiers, White Water Falls, Brevard, Sliding Rock Falls and several other towns and falls. It was a great trip. The best moment came at the end of the last day in NC at sliding rock falls. It had been raining all day there and the falls were much larger than normal. After much thought, I ascended the rock and slid down the water rock slide into the cold pool below. I then did the same thing with each of my two boys. It was a great moment and something they have talked about each day since we returned. They are ready to go back and do it again. We arrived home around midnight on Friday night. Saturday we were back up and off to the Top of the World in Townsend and then on to a picnic and trip around the loop in Cades Cove. It was a wonderful trip the Lord blessed us with. Below are a lots of pics from our trip. Check them out if you get a chance. Also, take time to get out and see the beautiful countryside God has blessed with here in our own backyard.

God Bless & Good Fishing!

you had to of pass'd threw my town franklin

glad you liked the trip, picked a nice week to do it on!

Loggerhead - I think we did travel through Franklin. We heard about the two deaths... very sad. My friend's wife that was with us jumped off the cliff at the gorge during our trip. It was awesome! We were at Sliding Rock around 7:30 or 8pm and there were only 4 cars in the parking lot and not a ranger or a lifeguard anywhere to be seen.

BA - Give it another try. I think I fixed it.
