1987 Sea King 12 foot first project

I have been looking at the projects here and found them inspirational enough that I want to take my 1987 Sea King (Montgomery Ward) to the next level. So far I've got the trailer fixed up and have a drain and eye on the boat with a 1995 Johnson 6hp 2 stroke and Minn Kota 55 on thrust transom mount. I'm wanting to do the following:

1) add marine carpet
2) replace spider clamp seats with flush spike mount seats
3) build a battery compartment forward to help balance it (perhaps in the middle seat) or bow which is better?
4) bow mount trolling motor because I'm a bass fanatic
5) paint the boat so its more pleasing to look at
6) add storage for tackle

Where to start... It all seems so overwhelming! Photos to come...

Looking forward to seeing your progress. I have the same boat to work on but it is a 1965!
