just picked this boat up hull and trailer slapped on my 25hp 1987 johnson for now does about 25mph looking to put some flooring in it to mount my rear seat since the rear bench is so close to the transom and any seat interferes with tiller handle so gonna draw up plans for a floor /shallow box between the 2 rear benches to mount a swivel seat pedestal and go from there maybe even enclose the deck for storage not walking lol.

Is that boat rated to a 25?? Sheesh! I couldn't imagine 25mph in my small boat! That'd be awesome!

Welcome aboard, Charlie !! where do you hail from in Fla ?

I have had SEVERAL 25hp Johnsons on my 1959 14' Crestliner
of the same style and yes, it will really SCOOT !!
It originally came with a 1958 35hp and when it died,
I went to the 25hp just for the availability.
I am currently restoring a 1958 Johnson Super Sea Horse 35hp
to put on it . . . Just coz you have a big motor, doesn't mean
you have to go W.F.O. all the time.

plus, some hulls are more stable and speed friendly than others.
Just learn your limits early in the game.

nice rig you have there - be safe !!

thanks for the kind words johnny i hail from avon park florida.

the boat is kinda narrow being 4 ft in the widest point
and tapering down to 43 inches at the transom but it doesnt stop me from
tearing up some bass and drowning some shiners. she does everything i need
and id like to get out on the peace river and arbuckle creek soon for some catfishing.

Nice. I have a 14ft mirrocraft I will be rebuilding soon...again. currently run a 6hp. But you have me thinking
