I picked the boat up a few months ago and came across this site. I'm not going to document my entire build because its all been done here before. I would like to thank Derek, Bowlershop and Jigngrub for their build threads. They all paved the way and made my job easier. The hull was in great shape, old rotten floors, soaked foam and a rotten transom, everything that I expected.

I didn't take a lot of documentation photos, like I said these guys had all done it before. I stripped It out to the bare hull and removed the decals. Did a lot of cleaning and replaced the foam in the floors and then replaced the wood with marine ply covered on all sides with epoxy. I hate wet carpet so I went with the Nautolex. I let my wife pick between the blue and gray and its bright to say the least.

Started with the Nautolex. I like the color and its easy to install. I used contact adhesive that came in a 20lb cylinder with the hose and gun.

I wanted to update the decals like other builds so I had a friend make them locally to match the newer style Tracker but I had him print my NC registration numbers on the decal.

It came with a great running Johnson 28 SPL but I wanted a little more power and picked up a newer Yamaha PRO50 with low compression on one cylinder. When I tore it down I found that a small clip had gotten into the center cylinder and bent the top ring groove just enough to make the rings stick in the piston and would not make over 30 PSI. I ordered a rebuild kit with new pistons and rebuilt the engine and carbs. The previous owner had removed the tilt and trim so I picked up a CMC. I'm just about ready for my first test run at this point. I'm waiting for engine decals and I have to replace trailer wheel bearings and bend come Lexan for a windshield. I hope to be on the water next week.

I made one change in the way the rear deck and compartments were configured. At least the way they were when I got it.

I fabricated and added two braces to the transom and splash well. With the 50 HP hanging it moved more than I liked. It really stiffened that area up.

Wow great work! Let me know how the flooring works out. Or have you used that material before?

Looks nice!

Thanks, not as nice as yours but I tend to fish in pretty tight spots and hated to paint it and end up scratching the sides.
