Hello all,
My son and I picked up a old 14ft Sears Aluminum V-hull a few months ago as a winter project. We were happy to find this forum, it's been a great resource so far! We're in the process of converting it to a fishing boat and have gotten some great ideas from here, thank you! We've stripped, epoxied, and painted so far, now looking forward to finally building out the interior.

Been putting quarantine time to good use. With the stripping and painting behind us... we're on to the fun stuff!

Paint job looks great....thinking of doing the same 2 tone on my project, but red on top....what did you use for paint???

Thanks. I used rattle can Rust-oleum primers, first self-etching then filler. For the paint, I used Rust-oleum Top side paint. Went on easy and am happy with the results. I used 4 qts of the white and 1 qt of the blue for a 14ft boat. 2020-04-12_2110.png

I remain 'sideways' and 'upside-down' with jealously ...

FWIW that '76 Starcraft I'm presently restoring was painted sometime in its life (allegedly ~15 years ago) with that same paint and it has held up extremely well, so good that I will not need to paint it nor touch it up!

That's good to know! I was pleasantly surprised how it turned out (for the money) and ease of application. Seems like some tough stuff!

You will look like a boss pulling that boat to the ramp with a vintage porsche! Paint to match lol?

So the images being sideways and upside down are a mobile device thing from what I understand. When you click on the picture, it shows them correctly.......frustrating. :(

LOL :LOL2: That would be a sight for sure. The ol' 60HP "Normal" in there barely pulls itself!

Well, we're in the short rows with this project now... We'll be on the water soon! Got the casting deck and wiring done. Just waiting on another piece of carpet (didn't order enough the first time...doh!) and we'll get it buttoned up and ready to FISH!
