Jon boat overhaul-structural support for seat removal

Hello I am new to this website and looked around but could not find what I was looking for. I am looking to remove both bench seats from my 14 foot jon boat to install a pedestal seats and open up more room. I am sure this will weaken it structurally, I am curious what others have done to strengthen the sides? I am currently running a 15hp engine with top speed of about 15mph. Would I be fine riveting some aluminum on a 45degree between the sides and the hull? or fabricate a new rib? Pics are old but just so you can see the layout.


Also, does anyone know how to read this Hull ID? the MIC is 4 letters so im clueless
