I would like to try to build the braket for my trolling motor with aluminum.

Any suggestion about which solder or other things should I use? do u need a particular torch? ( I have a basic Duraflame I've got at Home Depot)
 
I think you're talking about using brazing rods - solder won't cut it (unless there's something I don't know about).

you can use rivets or nuts/bolts (stronger) to make you a simple bracket
 
Yes I was talking about rods, there are some product out there on internet (and I remember seeing a demonstration at a fair one time) that promise miracles with aluminum so i was wondering if anybody has experience with those things.
 
I've seen the same infomerical... I like the idea, but I'm not sure how strong they actually are. You can get the rods at Tractor Supply here in GA, and the torch you have is what is claimed to be used for it to work
