I currently have my 3 battery trays mounted to 2 2x4s that are just sitting in the back of the boat. I can hear them bouncing around when I'm trailering the boat. Without drilling holes, how have folks secured their batteries?

Are you sure that is what you are hearing? If they were bouncing that much, they probably would have busted by now.

You may want to bolt the 2x4s to the bench seat & stern or crossribs.

My battery box just sits in the back of the boat, never had much problem.

I've only trailered it twice since I finished it, so I'm sure that's it. When I got to the ramp, and then when I got home, I could tell that the whole assembly had shifted quite a bit and chipped the paint on the bottom.

I was thinking of using 3M 5200 to adhere two thick nylon cutting board to the floor, then screw the trays directly to them.

Do your trays have the tabs on them for mounting? If your're going to drill though the bottom of the trays I'd make sure the batteries are not directly on top of the screw heads. Just a thought
